Messenger Oracle

I really do love the Messenger Oracle Deck by Ravynne Phelan. The illustrations are just gorgeous! Yes, I know I've probably said that before and I'll most likely say it again lol

I drew one card this morning and it was card number 7 "Do Not Fear The Unknown". The definition of this card, in a nutshell, is based on not judging your own success on the experience of another, don't allow your own fear to hold you back and finally not everything that sparkles is good, just as ugly is not always bad!

I think that this really is an important message as all too often we compare ourselves to others. Do we have the same standing in the community, have we bought a house or are we close to paying it off, how old is our car, how many times have we travelled, are we wearing the latest fashion, are we going to the *right* restaurants.... You get the idea! This comparison list has no end!

So be kind to yourself, you're exactly where you need to be right now.

Catch you next time!

Asha and Willow The Rescue Kitties

Asha and Willow are our two rescue kitties, they're seven months old now and they were five months old when we adopted them. They're the odd couple. Asha (under the towel) is a laid-back male and quite the lap cat, his little sister Willow, on the other hand, is a total odd bod! She's flighty, prefers her bed to either your lap or simply being held. She also (unless she's asleep) always looks like she's in shock!

Asha is getting close to being twice the size of Willow and he can be a bit rough when they're playing. It all starts out in good fun until you hear one of them howling (usually Willow) and then we have to separate them. Almost all of the photos I have of them are when they're sleeping. I should also add, that they have beds all over the house, yet they choose to sleep on towels!

Oh look! Another pile of dad's ceramics towels fresh out of the dryer!

Yeah, I know that's my bed, but I'm, much more comfortable sleeping on the lounge with my head on your cushion, beside my bed if that's ok with you?

Ah well! What can you do?!? They're entertaining. They have two modes:- full speed ahead and asleep. Full speed consists of being witness to a grey blur of fur fly through the house and then the grey blur often rolls around on the floor as one largish fluffy ball, this often when the howling starts!

Only time will tell if Willow will settle down, part of me is hopeful that she will, but the other part also thinks that this flighty behaviour is her makeup.
